2013-14: Cadet Jacobs concluded his freshman year with a career high 585 smallbore and 587 air rifle ... his high cumulative score was 1166 ... the high in air rifle came against UTEP on Nov. 16, 2013 ... in smallbore it was against Nebraska on Jan. 26, 2014 ... his cumulative (585 SB/581 AR) was in the same Nebraska match ... at the National Junior Olympic Championships (NJOC) in April, he finished 19th (1215.4) in air rifle ... he placed eighth (2294) in the three-position event ... at the Spring Selection in May, he finished 21st in the three-position with three-day scores of 1127, 1127 and 1140 (3394).
Outlook: In high school, Jacobs was the first-place shooter in air rifle at the 2012 Vashon JRC competition, Oct. 13, where he finished with a total score of 564, he went on to a second-place finish with 565 points in the 3-position. He won the silver medal at the Oregon State Junior Olympic Championships in the 3-position with a score of 560. In 2012, he won the gold medal at the Vashon JRC in air rifle with 564 points. In March 2013, he competed in and was the national champion of the NRA National Junior Sectionals. Jacobs fired a personal best 584 in the three-position smallbore rifle.

BEFORE THE ACADEMY: He graduated from Gresham Union High School in Gresham, Oregon ... made honor roll his senior year ... competed in swimming in high school ... finished 11th (1:02.30) at 2013 state finals in 100-yard breaststroke ... qualified for the 2013 Junior Olympic Rifle Nationals ... parents Bryant and Deb Jacobs.
