Air Force rifle squad went 1-1 in a match with Nebraska and West Virginia for the rifle season opener on Oct. 10, 2015.


Rifle team ready to kick off 2015-2016

2014-15: Cadet Simonton’s [Simon-ton] NCAA aggregate average was an 1135 for the season … her season high in air rifle was 579 on Oct. 4 and again against The Citadel on Nov. 8 … her highest smallbore score was 567 against TCU on Jan. of June 2015, Simonton is ranked 26th in air rifle (0.9333) in the USA Shooting National Rankings...her national results are listed on page 19 of the Rifle media guide.

2013-14: Simonton’s freshman career record is 565 smallbore and 577 air rifle with a cumulative 1142 ... she finished with 1188.1 points and was ranked 47th among 77 in the women’s events at the 2013 Winter Air Gun Championships in December 2013 ... she finished 27th among 60 in the juniors with 1188.1 points ... at the NJOCs, she placed 83rd with a two-day finals 789.3 in air rifle.

BEFORE THE ACADEMY: Simonton graduated from Northgate High School in Sharpsburg, Ga. ... competed at National JROTC Championships in Anniston, Ala., which consisted of two 3x20 courses for team and individual rankings ... in 2013, in the two-day Air Force Service Championship, she finished second overall in the Precision class while firing a 1,164 out of a possible 1,200 and added a 93.5 (out of 100) in the finals ... parents are Jay and Amy Simonton.
