Chandler AFA's highest scorer - rifle team swept three matches

Tom Chandler had Air Force's highest scores of the weekend in both the air rifle and smallbore events at The Citadel. The Falcons swept all three matches against North Carolina State and The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., Jan. 30-31, improving the team's season record to 6-9. Saturday's win was the team's best finish since competing in the President's Cup with an aggregate 4,626 in Nov. 2009. [+]

Rifle team drops two matches to TCU

The rifle team lost two matches to TCU this weekend at the Air Force Academy rifle range. On Saturday, Jan. 16, Air Force lost 4656-4599. The team scored 2321 points in the air rifle and 2278 in the smallbore three-position matches. Chandler AFA's Top Marksman at Winter Airgun Championships

Tom Chandler, the Air Force Academy's top marksman, finished fifth overall and was the high collegiate air rifle shooter with a 591 at the 2009 Winter Airgun Championships on Friday, Dec. 4. AFA's Kurt Hakola finished fourth overall in the junior's competition with a 586. The three-day event continues through Sunday, Dec. 6, at the USOTC. [+]

Rifle team falls to Nebraska and West Virginia

In the first rifle match of the 2009-10 seasons, the Air Force Academy rifle team lost to the University of Nebraska on Friday, Oct. 9, in Lincoln. The Huskers won the match, 4629-4614. The Falcons' top shooter in the match was Tom Chandler. Chandler shot a 581 in the smallbore and a 590 in air rifle for an aggregate 1171 score.
