Air Force shooting athletes Tyler Rico and Meredith Carpentier were the team's top shooters at the 2014 Winter Air Gun Championships this past weekend at the U.S. Olympic Training Center on Dec. 5-7.
Tyler Rico, CS33, is this week's co-athlete of the week (Dec.8, 2014). Rico was the decisive winner with two wins and a second-place finish while also achieving the best qualifying score of 624.2.
The Air Force rifle team improved its conference record to 2-0 after beating #10 Ohio State, 4665-4646, at home today, Dec. 4. In smallbore, the Falcons beat the Buckeyes 2318-2302. In air rifle, the Falcons won by three points, 2347-2344. Fourth ranked Air Force, in the Patriot Rifle Conference, is now 11-0 and 2-0 in the PRC.
The Air Force rifle team returned to action today hosting #10 Ohio State. The two teams competed smallbore this morning and so far the Falcons are ahead of the Buckeyes by 16 points. The Falcons total score in smallbore is 2318-2302.
