Junior Tom Chandler broke two Air Force Academy team records during the President's Trophy Match on Saturday, Nov. 7, at West Point. Chandler, from Oak Harbor, WA, had the highest aggregate air rifle score for an Air Force shooter with a 592/600. He also had the highest total score of 1178, which was previously held by Christopher Hill who scored an 1174 in 2006. On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Air Force Academy rifle team was host to Nevada-Reno and UTEP in a three-way match. Air Force won the matches, 4612-4586-4579. Air Force won the smallbore three-position match with 2294 points and finished with 2318 in air rifle. AFA's Tom Chandler was the smallbore high scorer with 581/600 points and Mike Seery was ranked second with 580 points. Chandler had AFA's highest score in the air rifle with 585 points. ... [+]

Rifle team falls to Nebraska and West Virginia

In the first rifle match of the 2009-10 seasons, the Air Force Academy rifle team lost to the University of Nebraska on Friday, Oct. 9, in Lincoln. The Huskers won the match, 4629-4614. The Falcons' top shooter in the match was Tom Chandler. Chandler shot a 581 in the smallbore and a 590 in air rifle for an aggregate 1171 score. The team scored 2304 points in smallbore and 2310 in air rifle. [+]
