Falcons at North American Cup - Lexington Va.
Last week the Falcons competed at the North American Cup in Lexington, Va., Dec. 10-12.
In men's epee, Tim French finished 34th among 178 competitors. Teammate Adam Schenk finished 79th, while Jackson Ranes placed 98th. Jason Stockdale was the top finisher for Air Force, finishing 23rd in Division I men's epee. Finishing in the top 32, Stockdale gained points that moved his US Fencing ranking to No. 26. The NACs are a top Division I men's and women's level of fencing. "I learned that I have a long way to go in my training to compete at the top level," said Schenk. In men's foil, Nate Smith placed 66th out of 129, while in men's saber, Sam Bartron finished 54th of 81 competitors in Division I. "The tournament was a great experience. It was great to be back in the national/international competition scene," Smith said. Freshman Elizabeth Enyart also competed for Air Force in Division I women's epee. Enyart finished 33rd of 90 competitors. "I am getting comfortable with the new additions to my game. I have a lot of time left at the Academy to keep improving my fencing and competition results," said Enyart.
