Fencers Head for Division I NACs in Columbus, Ohio

    The Fencing team will travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Division I North American Cup competition Dec. 6-8.

    The North American Cup is the first senior World Cup competition the Academy's fencers will participate in this season. The fencers will face some of their tougher opponents from the nation. According to head coach Abdel Salem, "The Academy's fencers are hungry for collecting points, and are determined to finish as high as they can."

    Sam Bartron and Sean Blas will compete in the sabre event. Tim French, Anthony Pryor, Jackson Ranes, Seth Kelsey, Elia Burrill and Caitlin Harris will fence epee. In foil, Chris Jones, Sean Recame and Nick Mosca will be competing. The tournament will consist of six different events: foil, epee and sabre for both men and women.

    "I know that our fencers will do their best to finish high in the overall standings," Salem said.
