Academy Fencer Finishes in Top 25 of Junior World Cup in Madrid, Spain
Nov. 28, 2001 C4C (Fr.) Ryan Dunn of Salina, Kansas, placed 22nd in the Junior "A" World Cup men's foil competition in Madrid, Spain. Dunn was one of seven American competitors to advance to the Men's Junior "A" after finishing 21st at the Junior World Cup in London. Dunn and the Air Force Academy fencers will compete Sunday, Dec. 2, in the Falcon Open at the Cadet Gymnasium. The Falcons will host several nationally ranked fencers. Nat Burke, currently ranked third in the U.S. Senior Men's Epee standings, will also compete in the Falcon Open. Burke is also ranked 15th in the Men's Epee Senior World Cup and is a member of the 2001 Men's Senior World Epee team. Also competing is Eric Hanson. Hanson is ranked No. 1 in the U.S. in men's epee and is a member of the 2001 Senior World Men's Epee team.
The Falcon Open will start at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 2, and is open to the public.
