Nov. 13, 2002
On Saturday, Nov. 16, the Falcons will host the 2002 Falcon Open. The annual Falcon Open is in its fourth year at the Air Force Academy cadet gymnasium. This year the Falcon Open will be very strong and will attract fencers from New Mexico, Amarillo, Kansas, and Colorado. The entire national pentathlon team will compete. Some of the top fencers in the United States will also be competing in this year's tournament.
The Falcon's top Epee fencers, Seth Kelsey, Tim French, Jackson Ranes, Anthony Pryor, Curtis Marshall, Elia Burrill, and Caitlin Harris will face tougher opponents this year than any of the years prior. The Falcon Open is very important for the Falcon fencing program. It gives the varsity and junior varsity teams the opportunity to compete with stronger opponents. It will help to finalize who will make the traveling team.
