Two Air Force Fencers Grab First-Place Honors at Santa Fe Open

In the second competition of the season for the Air Force fencing teams, two Falcon fencers went home with first-place trophies. Seth Kelsey and Ryan Dunne each grabbed first-place honors at the New Mexico Open in Santa Fe, N.M.

Kelsey, fencing epee, defeated teammate Gian Carlo-Rando to win the event. Carlo-Rando finished in second place.

In foil, freshman newcomer Ryan Dunn won the first event of his career. Chris Jones finished in third place.

In sabre, Andrew Grieg finished in second place overall, while Frederic Lathrop and Jared Parks tied for third place.

Up next for the Falcons is a dual meet against Army on Nov. 11. The event will take place in the Academy's Cadet West Gymnasium.
