Nick Toth Open comes to a close - Day 2


    The annual Nick Toth Open came to a close on Sunday, with several fencers finishing in the top 10.
    September 25 -- In the women's foil division, sophomores Mryamn Ruth and Collette Bannister tied for third place. Sophomore Kara Thoreson finished in sixth place. Haley Ward from the Denver Fencing Club was the women's champion.

    Air Force fencer, freshman David Fang finished in sixth place, while senior Kent Morgan placed 10th in the mixed foil division of the Nick Toth Open. Junior Sean Andrews finished 12th, followed by freshman Trent Atwood in 16th place. Nick Chinman from Northern Colorado Fencing was the winner.


    The Falcons will travel to the first North American Cup tournament of the season on Oct. 7-10 at the Miami-Dade Fair Expo Center, Miami, Fla.
