Sergei Gritsaev Joins Air Force Fencing Staff

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Sergei Gritsaev has joined Air Force fencing as an assistant coach, announced today by head coach Abdel Salem. A veteran in the fencing world with over three decades of experience, Gritsaev comes to the Academy from the Utah Swords Academy.

Prior to his arrival at the Academy, Gritsaev was the owner and head coach at Utah Swords Academy Fencing Club, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, from 2001-2017.

Gritsaev is an international fencing referee and has experience as a USFA high ranking official. He is a Master of Sport of USSR.

A native of Russia, Gritsaev was also a teacher and coach at the Lvov State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism (Ukraine). In addition, Gritsaev has coaching experience with the Ukraine Junior and Cadet National Team.
Gritsaev earned a Master’s degree of Sports from the Lvov University of Physical Education.
