2007 Summer Nationals

USAF Academy, Colo. - The Air Force Academy's Falcon Fencing Club, that included 2Lt Jason Stockdale, class of 2007, sophomore Peter French and head coach Abdel Salem finished 13th of 49 men's epee teams at the 2007 Summer Nationals Championships held in Miami, Fla., June 29-July 8, 2007.

Individually, Salem tied for third among 55 in the Veteran 50-59 division. Stockdale took 51st among 117 in men's epee and French, who competed in both Division I and Juniors, finished 33rd of 65 epee Division I competitors and took ninth place among 131 in the juniors. Both Stockdale and French are "A" rated fencers. Salem holds a "B" rating.

Also competing at the Summer Nationals was senior Eliza Enyart, who finished 31st among the 49 women's epee competitors. Enyart is also an "A" rated fencer in U.S. Fencing.

The Falcons varsity team begins competition in September as the program hosts the annual Nick Toth Open. The first USFA tournament is Oct. 5-8 in Tucson, Ariz., in the Division II/Division III/Cadet tournament.
