Stockdale wins 2007 Rocky Mountain Sectional

Air Force Academy fencer senior Jason Stockdale won the men's epee competition at the 2007 Rocky Mountain Sectional Championships in Boulder, Colo., on Sunday, April 29. Teammate sophomore Kai Anthony also competed in the Sectionals finishing 14th among 25 epee competitors.

Stockdale has been a leader on the men's team since his freshman year when he first earned honorable mention All-American honors at the 2004 NCAA Men's and Women's Fencing Championships. He followed that appearance up with two more trips to the NCAAs in 2005 and 2006, earning first-team All-American honors in 2006. He has competed in the 2005 and 2006 Division I Summer Nationals and is on track for the 2007 Nationals in Miami, Fla., June 29. He has been a top competitor at both the annual Nick Toth Open and Falcon Open throughout his career. Prior to coming to the Academy, Stockdale competed at the 2003 Pan-American Games, 2002 Hungary World Cup and the 2002 Tauberbischofscheim World Cup.
