Air Force ranked 14th after two days of NCAA Fencing Championships
Hofilena, All-American honorable mention

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. - Freshman Alyssa Hofilena finished 11th in women's saber for the Air Force fencing team now ranked 14th after the second day of competition at the 2014 NCAA Fencing Championships in Columbus, Ohio.

Hofilena tallied 11 victories (.478) with 91 touches scored, 89 received and a +2 indicator. Hofilena earned All-American honorable mention status.

Sophomores Mary McElwee and Madeleine Girardot tallied 13 points in women's foil. McElwee finished 18th with seven victories. Girardot finished in 21st place with six victories.

After two days, Air Force tallied 24 team points for a 14th-place ranking in the championships.

The 2014 NCAA Championships resume Saturday with rounds 1-3 of men's competition beginning at 9:30 French Field House.
