2005 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championships Final Results
Sophomore Jason Stockdale, junior Timothy French, freshman Eliza Enyart and senior Marisa Romero, finished in the top 25 of the individual standings at the 2005 NCAA Men's and Women's Fencing Championships (March 17-20), and finished 15th in the final team standings. After the first two days of the NCAA championships, Stockdale finished 13th in men's epee, while French finished 14th. Following the women's competition on Saturday and Sunday, Enyart finished 18th in women's epee. Romero finished 23rd in the women's saber event. In the final team standings, Air Force finished 15th. Notre Dame won the NCAA championship title. While the team's individual standings may seem disappointing now, all but Romero will have their chance to add another NCAA championship to their career. Romero will graduate in May after adding three consecutive championship appearances to her career list. Head coach Abdel Salem will also have a pool of fencers who should qualify for the NCAAs in 2006.
