Men's Fencers finish 2-3 at Duke

    Feb. 11-12: At the annual Duke Meet on Saturday, the Air Force Academy men's fencing team finished 2-3 overall. The Falcons' top five individuals were men's foil fencer Daniel Cohen, 12-3, and Chase Houser in epee, 10-4. Finishing with 8-7 records were Alexander Chiang (foil), Emiliano Kaptain (saber) and Nathan Sorensen (epee).

    Against their opponents, the men scored victories against Johns Hopkins, 18-9, and Brandeis, 15-12. The Falcons lost to the University of North Carolina, 13-14, Penn State, 11-16, and Duke,7-20.

    The men were 3-0 against Johns Hopkins and 2-1 versus Brandeis. Against North Carolina, the men lost 1-2, and were 0-3 against Penn State, and lost to Duke, 1-2.

    The saber team was 1-5, with a victory against North Carolina. In foil, the only loss was to Penn State, giving the team a 4-1 foil record. The epees finished 2-3, beating both Johns Hopkins (7-2) and Brandeis (6-3).

    The highly competitive competition continued on Sunday with the women's tournament.
