BEIJING - Former Academy fencer, Seth Kelsey lost to silver medalist, Fabrice Jeannet of France in the second round, 15-11, of the men's individual epee in Beijing, according to Associated Press. Fabrice got off to an early 3-0 lead but Kelsey came fighting back to tie it at 5. It stayed nip and tuck through a 10-10 score, but Fabrice took over and never looked back.

Kelsey qualified high enough that he did not have an opponent in the first round.

Jeannet lost to Italy's Matteo Tagliariol in the gold medal final 15-9.
