Falcon Fencing Competes at January Junior NAC

Air Force fencing had 11 competitors at the January Junior North American Cup (NAC) in Virginia Beach, Va.  The four day event was Fri.-Mon., Jan. 5-8.  Freshman Stephen Kimatian and sophomores Leanne Singleton-Comfort and Helen Landwehr led the Falcons with Top-30 finishes.

Kimatian had the top finish for the Air Force, taking 16th place in the men's junior epee out of a field of 218.  Landwehr was 27th in the women's junior epee, out of 127 competitors.  Singleton-Comfort was 28th in the Div. I women's saber out of 136.

Freshman Brian Swicegood placed 50th in the men's junior foil out of 217 competitors.  

The Falcons had three competitors in the women's Div. I foil.  Freshman Mackensie Nechanicky placed 55th, followed by freshman Kaitlyn Guo in 77th and sophomore Allison Wong in 78th, out of a field of 140.

Sophomore Jordan Griffth placed 100th in the Div. I men's foil out of a field of 256.

Air Force resumes competition this weekend, Jan. 13-14 at the Western Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
