    FENCING SEASON KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND AT HOME

    Nick Toth Open ... Season Outlook

    2012-13: Finished in second place as the No. 3 seed, with scores of 15-4, 15-10, 15-13, and 15-9 in men's saber at the 2012 Nick Toth Open ... won the New Mexico Open senior mixed saber championship.

    2011-12: Is a three-year letterman in fencing ... currently has a career average of .565 with a 52-40 record ... all-region 2012 ... was 5-5 at Western Regionals.

    2010-11: Posted a 19-5 record at the Notre Dame meet ... all-region 2011 ... was 10-2 at regionals ... qualifed for the 2011 NCAA Championships ... finished 24th in saber.

    2009-10: Tied for third place in the senior mixed saber events at both the Nick Toth Open and Amarillo Open ... at the NAC A Division II and III tournaments in Des Moines, he finished 71st and 27th, respectively ... he finished 11th in mixed saber at the Falcon Open ... competed in his first NCAA Western Regional Championships, where he finished 11th.

    Before Air Force: Attended Palm Desert High School ... fenced with the Desert Fencing Academy ... parents are Robert and Kathleen Pippin ... has two half-sisters, Christa and Diane ... earned the Academic Award of Excellence all four years in high school ... enjoys water kayaking,mountain biking, rock climbing and snowboarding.

    Academy: Majoring in Economics ... member of Cadet Squadron 09 - Vikings ... wants to go on to pilot training and become a fighter pilot.
