Barrette had a very strong sophomore year and became the program's top performing women's epee fencer - establishing the strongest record in the history of women's epee fencing at the Academy. After qualifying for the NCAA Fencing Championships by placing second in the Western Regionals, she finished just out of the Top 8 (9th) at the NCAA Championships.

    2009-10: Barrette finished the 2009-10 NCAA season with a dual meet record of 44-17 (.721) ... NCAA Championships (13-10) ... Western Regionals (7-1) ... Duke Home Meet (10-2)... Eric Sollee Invitational at Brandeis University (14-4) ... Barrette's career NCAA dual meet record improved to 83-44 (.654). She earned USFA/National points in Division I women's epee NAC events in San Jose (5th), Virginia Beach (7th), Pittsburgh (19th) as well as Junior NAC events in Kansas City (9th) and Memphis (26th) ... gained additional Div I Senior epee National points by finishing in the Top 32 during the 2010 U.S. Summer Nationals in Atlanta (32nd) ... won the Amarillo Open (8th in Senior mixed) ... finished 2nd in the Falcon Open.
