2014-15:  2014: at the Parker Kickoff and was the junior (U20) saber champion … won the senior women’s saber title … finished sixth at the Amarillo Open in senior mixed saber … finished 66th overall in the Division I category at the Div. I NAC in Portland … 51-18 in college duals … Brandeis Invitational (15-3) … 29-13, Northwestern Duals II … placed third at West Region (7-2) … 11th at the Div. I NAC in Salt Lake in women’s saber … 57th in the juniors category.

2013-14: Freshman record, 46-9, in saber … junior women’s saber champion at the Nick Toth Open, taking second place in seniors … in college duals: Brandeis (15-3), Western Invitational (11-4), Duke (13-2) ... undefeated at the West Regionals to win the women’s saber title ... qualified for NCAA Fencing Championships, finishing 11th (11-12), earning All-American.

Before the Academy:  Attended Miller Place High School.  academics: National Honor Society 11th - 12th grade, Foreign NHS, 11th - 12th grade, Honor Roll for all four years in High school ... athletics: fenced for five years … ranked 28th in Junior Event during the 2012-2013 national fencing season ... fenced for only nine months and got eighth in Y-14 ... placed Top 16 in numerous cadet events ... placed 8th in Div. IA at the 2012 Summer Nationals Anaheim, California … invited to two world Cups in Arizona, placed top 16 in both (2011 and 2012) … played lacrosse for seven years, was part of a winter varsity lacrosse team as an 8th grader- 9th grade ... Best Attack player as a freshman for lacrosse in high school. 

Personal: Member of cadet squadron 37 … parents are Maria and Celso Hofilena, both graduated from the University of the Philippines … has a younger brother Mark … behavioral science – human factors major … future career plans are to become an intel officer … active in her squadron as an honor officer … during the summer prior to her senior year, she completed an academics class (MSS 415), completed powered flight and was an Ops group cadre … hobbies are lacrosse, reading, scuba diving and writing … came to the Academy because she was recruited here for fencing and also wanted to do something different and challenging … began fencing at age 14 … played lacrosse from age 7 to 14 until quitting to start fencing.  Did not like fencing when beginning due to losing so much.  But stuck with fencing and began to improve to the point of being offered an appointment to the Academy … credits her parents as having the biggest influence on her sports career … pre-competition superstition is that she needs music and she usually isolates herself and won’t talk to people unless necessary … dram vacation spot is back to the Phillipines … guilty pleasure is food and shopping for home décor … something not many people know about her is that she wanted to go to college for lacrosse … enjoys listening to hip-hop, hype music, chill music and all other types … favorite TV show is Grey’s Anatomy … favorite movie is Wall-e … favorite class subject is Human Factors classes.
