Falcons shoot best round of season on day two of Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force shot a 282 (-6) in the second round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Eisenhower Blue Golf Course.
The 282 is the best round of the season and the best round in the GMFI by the Falcons since a first-round 279 in 2019.
The four scoring Falcons all came in at even or under par, led by senior Eric Liveringhouse with a three-under 69. Junior Eli Huntington shot 70 (-2), junior Carson Baker shot 71 (-1), senior Ted Davenport shot 72 (even) and senior Brooks Morrell shot 78.
Huntington is tied for ninth out of the 115 golfers at 141 (-3). Liveringhouse is tied for 30th overall at 144 (even), followed by Baker (148), Davenport (149) and Morrell (155).
Utah Valley's Paxton Maxwell leads the tournament at 135 (-9). UC San Diego's Davis McDowell, who shot 65 in the second round, is second overall 137 (-7).
Gonzaga leads the field with a 565 (-11). UC San Diego and Idaho are tied for second at 566. Air Force is tied for 14th at 582 (+6).
In the individual event on the Eisenhower Silver Course, UC Davis's Luis Grizot leads the field at 135 (-9). CSU Northridge's Liam Judkins and UT Arlington's Liam Harting are tied for second at 138 (-6). Air Force freshman Ben Zeiler shot 68 in the second round and is tied for 10th at 141 (-3). Alvaro Fonseca is at 144 (even), Jackson Scaletta is at 155 and freshman Lincoln Blake is at 169.
The final round of the 56th Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational is Monday, Sept. 22. Groups will go off on the Blue Course in tee times beginning at 7:30 am MT while individuals will begin at 8:30 am MT in a shotgun start.
