Air Force Drops Conference Opener Against San Diego State, 3-2

USAF ACADEMY – Air Force was first to score in conference play but came up short of victory against 2024 Western Athletic Conference Regular Season Champion San Diego State, 3-2, Saturday evening at Cadet Soccer Stadium.
The Falcons' C4C Sean Odle was first to score (15'). The Aztecs' Josh Lucas equalized (36') with help from Terrence Okoeguale. SDSU took the lead behind Juan Zepeda early in the second half (46'). C4C Maximilian Perez equalized moments later (49'). Zepeda, for his second strike of the match, scored the eventual game-winner (68').
Air Force took a season best 20 shots on the match, nine shots coming on target. C3C keeper Brody Smith made a pair of saves in the defensive effort.
The Falcons return to action next week with WAC contests against No. 16 Utah Valley (Oct. 9) and Utah Tech (Oct. 12).
