
Roger Jones, Jr., Reagan Tubbs earn Old Trapper Mountain West Player of the Week honors

Air Force sophomore safety Roger Jones, Jr. and senior place kicker Reagan Tubbs each earned Old Trapper Mountain West Player of the Week honors for their performances in Air Force's 24-21 win over Wyoming last week.
Jones, Jr., earned the defensive player of the week honor after recording a team-high 10 tackles, including a team-best six unassisted. He also had a tackle for loss and an interception, his team-best second of the season. His interception came in the end zone during the fourth quarter with game tied 14-14 with 9:30 remaining. The Falcons took the lead for good on the next possession.
Tubbs earned the special teams player of the week honor with a career-best three field goals and his only extra point attempt in his first start of the season and second of his career (2023 at San Jose State). After becoming the starter mid-week, he hit field goals of 32 yards to open the scoring, 29 yards and a career-long 40 yards. His 40-yard field goal was into the wind and made it a two-possession game, 24-14 with 3:04 remaining in the game. He also handles kickoff duties and had six kickoffs with three touchbacks. He also had a tackle on kickoff coverage.
The Falcons have an open date this week before returning to action against service academy rival Army West Point on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. MT in Falcon Stadium.
Other winners awarded by the Mountain West last week include Boise State sophomore running back Dylan Riley as offensive player of the week and Hawaii quarterback Micah Alejado as freshman of the week.
