Falcon Pride Club Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement

Colorado Springs, Co --Falcon Pride Club has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide Occurring this year on November 29, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

"Personally, I have felt the true value of the Pride Club account for Men's Gymnastics.  A little history...On July 30, 2014, I was called by my boss, Kip Simons and his supervisor, George Nelson to let me know that my position as Assistant Coach for Men's Gymnastics was to be eliminated in a RIF (Reduction in Force) effective September 30, 2014.  I was probably the only person on this campus to get only a 60 day notice that I wasn't going to have a job.  Up until that time, we were under the impression that it would be Josh Loeser, our newest hire for our program.  When it was discovered that this was the case, Kip Simons, went to the pride club for the entire $35,000.00 in our Men's Gymnastics Pride Club at that time and put me on a 7 month AFAAC contract to get me through the end of the 2014-2015 NCAA season.  It was a Godsend for me and my family.  It not only allowed me to finish out that season with the class of athletes that I had recruited as an assistant coach, but also gave me an additional seven months to secure a new job with a private gymnastics club in Reno, Nevada.  With only the 60 day notice that I had, I would likely not have had an opportunity to secure the position that I did in Reno and would have incurred quite a lapse in steady income.  I cannot say enough nor can I express enough gratitude for what the Pride Club contributions did for me and my family."

-Head Coach of Men's Gymnastics, Jeff Robinson

The options for donations are to the 27 intercollegiate sports, excellence fund (general fund) and tickets for troops. All of the proceeds directly benefit the cadet-athletes.
