The Air Force Academy women's tennis and men's golf teams both received perfect scores in the NCAA Academic Progress Report (APR) that was released Tuesday by the NCAA. Both the women's tennis team and the men's golf team scored a perfect 1000.
Seventeen Academy sports received marks above the national average for their sport, including baseball (978), football (974), men's basketball (957), men's cross country (990), men's golf (1000), men's gymnastics (982), men's ice hockey (991), men's lacrosse (984), men's soccer (974), men's swimming (987), men's indoor track (975), men's outdoor track (977), women's soccer (990), women's swimming (989), women's tennis (1000), women's indoor track (980) and women's outdoor track (985).
In order to compete in the 2013-14 postseason, teams must achieve a 900 multi-year APR or a 930 average over the most recent two years. The same standard was in place for the 2012-13 academic year. This standard will increase to a multi-year 930, which predicts to a Graduation Success Rate of approximately 50 percent, or a 940 two-year average APR for the 2014-15 postseason. To assist limited-resource institutions, the board gave these schools and their teams more flexibility to meet the standards.
