May 12, 2014
USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - After becoming just the second female thrower in Academy history to break the 50-foot mark in the shot put, junior Danielle Tabb was named the Air Force Athlete of the Week on Monday, May 12. It is the first such honor for the Spanaway, Wash., native.
With a career-best toss of 51'11" that bettered the field by seven feet, Tabb easily won the shot put at the Air Force Twilight Invitational on Friday, May 9. That throw, a personal improvement of over three feet, is ranked second on the program's all-time list.
Tabb, who shared the athletic department's May 12 honor with baseball's Bo Wilson, and the rest of the Air Force track and field team returns to action this week, when they travel to Laramie, Wyo., for the 2014 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
