U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Three Air Force Academy student-athletes were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team, as announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Senior tennis player Lucas Fumagalli was joined on the first team by junior hockey player Dylan Abood and sophomore hockey player Kyle Haak. Fumagalli (New Braunfels, Texas) carries a 3.85 GPA as a mechanical engineering major. Abood (Centennial, Colo.) has a 3.80 GPA as an electrical engineering major while Haak (Okemos, Mich.) has a 3.95 GPA as physics major.
All three earned first-team honors and will be on the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, announced later this month.
To be eligible for nomination to the all-district team, student-athletes must carry a minimum of a 3.30 GPA, must participate in at least 50 percent of the team’s games and must have completed at least one full academic year at the current institution.
Student-athletes from the following sports are eligible for at-large recognition: beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, water polo and wrestling.
