Joey Uhle Shares Air Force Athlete of the Week Honors

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - After finishing seventh in the pole vault at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships and claiming first-team All-America honors, junior Joey Uhle was named the Air Force co-Athlete of the Week on Monday, March 17.

    Uhle recorded a clearance of 17'8½" to finish seventh at the national championship meet, which was held last weekend in Albuquerque, N.M. After clearing the opening bar (17'0¾") on his second attempt, Uhle easily cleared the next two heights (17'4½", 17'8½") on his first attempt. The junior, who entered the meet ranked 16th, finished seventh overall to claim first-team All-America honors.

    The native of Powell, Ohio, shared the department's weekly award with Meredith Carpentier of the Academy's rifle team.
