Cheer and Dance Team Members, Parents and Coaches:
The Air Force Academy Spirit Program is happy to offer team camps in Cheer and Dance during Session 3 of Falcon Sports Camp (June 24-26). These camps are for middle and high school teams only, no individual attendees please. Camp is two and a half days in length (Mon & Tue 8:30am-4:30pm Wed 8:30-12noon) and does not include boarding, however, there are several hotels near the Academy for teams who would like to travel to Colo Springs. Lunch is provided Monday and Tuesday with teams being released at noon on Wednesday, June 26.

The Air Force Spirit team is committed to individual instruction in addition to critiquing and perfecting the technique and presentation of each team. Camp Staff would work with each Cheer and Dance team to provide a variety of material that teams can incorporate during their season.  We will also take time to focus on team building, nutrition and competition/game day hair and make-up.  Our goal as a staff is to give you more than just material, but to prepare your team in all areas.  Dance and Cheer Coaches are encouraged to attend camp with their teams. Each team will be allowed one coach to attend at no charge, however charges will apply for additional coaches.

    Cheer curriculum:
Each day will be broken down into classes for stunts, jumps, motion technique and dance. Material would include two cheers, six chants and two dances that will be taught by AF camp staff.  During stunt portion of the camp, AF camp staff will focus on improving and perfecting technique and advancing each group's skills at their own pace.   It is important that before groups progress they have perfected the level where they currently are.  Camp staff will hold evaluations at the end of each day to let the team showcase and be critiqued the day's material with a final evaluation on the last day.

    Dance curriculum:
Each team will be taught four dances total (two per day) one jazz, one hip hop, one pom and one contemporary.  Each day will be broken down into classes for turns, leaps/jumps and tricks.  Camp staff will hold evaluations at the end of each day to let the team showcase and be critiqued the day's material with a final evaluation on the last day.

We know there are many camps for you and your teams to choose from and we are honored that you are considering our camp at the beautiful Air Force Academy. We hope to see you this summer and wish you the best of luck in your cheer and dance endeavors.
