Parents and Future VB Stars

We have two goals for you at the Air Force Volleyball Camp: Learn all you can in less than a week to become a better volleyball player and HAVE FUN doing it!! We hire great coaches who can teach you how to improve during camp and also how to improve on your own after you leave camp. Our coaches are gifted at finding to the best way to teach you; by showing, by telling, and by guiding you through each skill until you make the changes needed to learn new skills.

To be a successful volleyball player, you need to have good individual skills and the ability to perform those skills in game like situations. Since the ball is always in motion, players need to be able to go from one skill to another quickly; pass, then go hit, set, then go block, serve, then go play defense. With this in mind, each day we spend some time working on individual skills and then, working on those same skills in game like scenarios.

With more than 150 players at each camp, there is a wide variety of skill level. In order to challenge each player we incorporate two programs.

Skill Grouping: Each player is placed in a group of players based on both skill level and age; this allows coaches to push their group at their level. Less experienced players are taught the fundamental skills which will give them more confidence in game situations. More experienced players will be taught more subtle techniques within each fundamental skill.

Stations: We know that players come to camp with particular things they want out of camp. With this in mind, we schedule a portion of camp to allow players to work on whatever skill they choose (Hitting, serving, defenseetc. We place coaches on courts and have them teach one particular skill and allow players to pick the court and coach of their choice. In this way, if a player wants to spend extra time on serving or defense or hitting, they get that opportunity.

All campers should bring their volleyball attire: shorts or tights, t-shirts, socks, court shoes, knee pads, and a large water bottle.

Each campday for all 3 sessions, runs from 9:00am until 4:00pm, except the last day (Friday or Wednesday depending on the session), which ends at 11:30am. Session 1 and 2 sell out very quickly so make sure to register early!

Camp Check-in Process

Our Advanced Position Camp fits perfectly between Session 1 and 2. Campers with appropriate skill are encouraged to try one of the sessions and the Advanced Camp. We also offer an All Skills Camp that starts on a Friday evening and ends Sunday at 12:00pm.

Again, thank you for considering AFA Volleyball Camp. We are confident it will be a rewarding experience for your young volleyball players and will contribute to their future success in the sport.
