Basketball Players and Parents:
Thank you for considering the AFA Basketball Camp this summer! Our camps are designed to not only help our campers better understand the game of basketball, but to also master the concepts needed to be successful in life. We will work hard to ensure that all campers who come to one of our camps will leave having worked with a staff that is dedicated to helping them have fun while learning the finer points of the game.
The success of the Air Force Academy basketball program has always been grounded in developing strong individual fundamentals as well as unselfish team play. We strive to carry these concepts into our camps. Dribbling, passing, shooting and defense are the focus of our daily individual instruction, while screening, cutting, and playing together are emphasized during team play. Our experienced coaches will stress these principles while campers participate in both individual and team competitions throughout the camp.
Items you will need to bring to camp are: basketball shoes, shorts, t-shirts or tank tops and extra pairs of socks. We highly encourage you to not bring valuables like jewelry or watches. Balls will be provided, please do not bring your own.
Each day of sessions 1 and 2 will run from 8:30am to 4:30pm with the exception of Friday, which will conclude with an awards and recognition ceremony which will begin at 11:30am. Session 3 will be two full days (8:30am-4:30pm Monday & Tuesday) with Wednesday a half day (8:30am-12:00pm).
Thank you again for considering AFA Basketball Camp, we believe it will be a rewarding experience for your young basketball player.
In accordance with NCAA guidelines, all AFA Sports Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by specified number, age grade level and/or gender of its participants.
