    Parents and Young Swimmers:

Thank you for considering the Falcon Swim Camps for your swimmer this summer. We offer two distinct swim camps for individual participants, and will be offering a team camp opportunity this summer as well. Individual camps offer thorough analysis of stroke technique to include video analysis of the world's best swimmers along with video of each individual camper. The main difference between the Stroke and Turn Camp and the High Altitude Training camp is easily seen in the names. While both camps offer challenging training programs, the High Altitude Training Camp is best suited for experienced swimmers with a good year-round training base. The team camp allows teams to train LCM @ the Air Force Academy with their club coach, while receiving input from AFA coaches.

    About the Cadet Natatorium

This will be the second year the camps will be held in the newly refurbished Cadet Natatorium.  The facility, which recently underwent a multi-million renovation, features all new bulkheads, starting blocks, scoreboards, and lighting.  The Natatorium facilities offer TIVO analysis, reaction time pads on the blocks, an adjacent state of the art dry land training room and more.  In addition to its high altitude location at 7200 feet, this is a world class facility matched by only a few in the country.

Session 1 - Stroke and Turn Camp
Suitable for all levels of competitive swimmers: Learn the latest in stroke and turn technique taught by head coaches Rob Clayton and Casey Converse. Morning sessions are devoted to video analysis of the World's top swimmers followed by associated drills in the Academy pool. Afternoon sessions begin with a skills circuit in and around the pool followed by training and video analysis of each individual swimmer's stroke technique. Enrollment is limited to 80 swimmers. This camp is extremely popular---so sign-up early!

Session 2 - High Altitude Training Camp
Join us for a week of intensive training and learning at 7200 feet! Train under the guidance of Academy head coaches Casey Converse and Rob Clayton in the Academy's 50 meter facility. This week of camp is open to any and all entrants but, due to its intensity, is best suited for swimmers with USA Swimming A times to Olympic Trial Qualifiers. Two training sessions per day plus an hour-long circuit in and around the pool provide an unparalleled training experience. Video analysis of the world's top swimmers combined with technical analysis and filming of each individual swimmers strokes and turns provide the opportunity for swimmers to grow in their technical ability. Enrollment is limited to 50 swimmers. Please sign-up early to assure yourself a spot.

Camp runs from 8:30am until 4:30pm with the exception of Friday which is a half day camp. Friday's session ends with a pentathlon competition starting at approximately 9:00am. The campers will be free to leave immediately following the completion of the meet and receipt of their camp packets.

    Falcon Swimming Team Training Camp
This camp is for teams who are interested in bringing a team to train at our high altitude, world class facility with their own coach.  There will be two 1 week sessions (June 3-8 & June 24-29), and the camps will cost $50 per swimmer per session, which includes a camp T-shirt the first week of participation.   The camps will run from 6:30-9am Mon-Fri and 7-10am Sat.  Each team will need to bring a minimum of 6 athletes and 1 coach, all of whom must be USA Swimming registered.  Each team can request a maximum of 48 athletes. Each session will consist of at least 30 minutes of dry land training, and up to 2 hours of LCM swim training time, conducted by the team coach and supervised by the AFA Camp coach. During this time, the AFA coach will be available as a consultant for such services as video feedback, relay exchange feedback, or similar activities.  These camps can be customized to fit your team's needs.

For any of the camps, swimmers should bring: suits, caps, towels and goggles. In addition, High altitude training camp participants should bring all of their normal training gear to include: pull gear, kick boards and (short) fins. High altitude training camp swimmers will also participate in dry land training so each camper should also bring clothing conducive to dry land training sessions.

Thank you again for considering our camp. We are confident it will be a rewarding and fun experience for your young swimmer and will contribute to their future success in swimming.
