Fred Goldsmith, who served as an assistant football coach at
the Air Force Academy from 1979-84, has written his memoir called Comeback
Coach. He has a dedicated chapter about his years at the Academy. Former Air
Force assistant coach Chuck Petersen wrote the forward and former head coaches
Fisher DeBerry and Ken Hatfield were contributors to the project. Goldsmith
describes the thrill of beating Notre Dame and the unique atmosphere and
recruiting at the Academy. The book is available on amazon.com.
