Senior running back Cody Getz and junior punter David Baska have been honored for their performances at Michigan last Saturday. Getz and Baska each earned collegefootballperformanceawards.com honors as running back and punter of the week, respectively. Getz also picked up collegesportsmadness.com Mountain West Conference player of the week honors.
Getz rushed for 130 yards and matched his career high with three touchdowns to lead the Falcons offense that gained 417 total yards. Getz leads the conference and ranks third nationally in rushing with a 174.0 per-game average through two weeks. He is also tied for the national lead in scoring with six touchdowns and an 18.0 per-game scoring average.
Baska punted twice at Michigan for a 53.5-yard average and nailed a career-long 71 yard punt while deep in his own territory. Baska leads the MW in punting with a 48.0 average, but lacks enough attempts to qualify for the national statistics.
