CBS SPORTS NETWORK CELEBRATES
CBS Sports Network is dedicating the ten days surrounding Independence Day with all the action and excitement of service academy athletics with "ARMED FORCES SALUTE," a programming block featuring the best of Army, Navy and Air Force.
Beginning Thursday, June 30 (6:00 AM, ET) and continuing through Saturday, July 9, the showcase features compelling Army, Navy and Air Force games from the past year, along with original programming that includes the Network's INSIDE ACADEMY FOOTBALL documentaries, which chronicle the daily routines of football players from the three service academies and explore how their sport intersects with their lives as officers-in-training for the United States military.

Last week, Inside Lacrosse released its All-Freshman team for the 2011 season, honoring Air Force midfielder Erik Smith as a second-team selection.
Smith, who was rated as the 10th-best freshman in Division I lacrosse by IL last month, earned Air Force's Rookie of the Year honors this year. He ended the season with a 52.5 win percentage at the face-off X and led the team in both assists (16) and ground balls (64). One of five Air Force freshmen in the starting lineup this year, the Golden, Colo., native finished second on the team in total points with 29.

The Air Force Academy athletic ticket office will be closed on Monday, June 20, for an official function. The office will re-open on Tuesday, June 21, at 9 a.m. Fans may purchase tickets online at www.goairforcefalcons.com.

Coach Calhoun Headlines Sports Corp Luncheon - Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun will be in his familiar chair at the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation's annual College Football Kickoff Luncheon on Wednesday, June 29 at the Colorado Springs Marriott. It's been a lucky seat for the talented head coach over the past four summers, too.
The College Football Kickoff Luncheon, one of the state's most anticipated gridiron events, is set for Wednesday, June 29, at the Colorado Springs Marriott at 12:00 Noon.
Luncheon fans will also hear from CU's first-year coach Jon Embree, CSU-Pueblo's John Wristen, standout Colorado State sophomore quarterback Pete Thomas, who will represent the Rams, and Northern Colorado's first-year head coach Earnest Collins, Jr.
There is a buzz on each campus about the upcoming 2011 season, and football fans will want to be on hand to hear about it.

Football will be hosting 7 games at home this year instead of the usual six. Fans will be treated to a bonus game for the same price as last season. Packages start at $60 and only $200 for family four packs. Hockey season tickets remain in a limited amount. Family Packs sold out weeks ago and seating in the reserved and center ice areas are soon to follow. Volleyball season tickets offer an unbelievable value. Earn Free Tickets to the AFA vs. South Dakota Football Game or a Family Pack to any AFA Volleyball Match Air Force Academy Athletics is once again teaming up with the Pikes Peak Library District to offer local kids the opportunity to earn Falcon tickets through this summer's PPLD reading program. The reading program will run from June 1st through July. Readers can earn great prizes throughout the summer from local businesses and restaurants along with free tickets to AFA sporting events when reaching reading goals during the summer months.
