Joel Sharratt to Be Inducted Into MWCA Hall of Fame

Air Force wrestling head coach Joel Sharratt has been selected for induction into the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Sharratt, who is being inducted as an athlete, is one of eight individuals to receive the honor for 2011.

The induction, which will be held April 9 in Benson, Minn., will also include John Barrett (Athlete), Jim Carrington (Contributor), Jim Dotseth (Coach), Jeff Gallagher (Coach), Ed Homan (Contributor), Stephen "Pete" Saxe (Athlete) and Bruce Thompson (Athlete).

A native of Bloomington, Minn., Sharratt wrestled for Bloomington-Kennedy High School, winning two state AA titles (1989-90) and earning a third-place finish (1990). He then went on to the University of Iowa, Sharratt was a three-time All-American, earning three trips to the NCAA Finals, winning the championship in 1994.
