Sophomore wrestler Cole VonOhlen, ranked 10th in the nation at 141 pounds, posted a 6-2 record to finish fourth at the annual Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, N.C., last week. VonOhlen began the tournament with three straight wins on the opening day of competition to earn a spot in the quarterfinals. After a loss to ninth-ranked Andrew Alton of Penn State, VonOhlen advanced through the consolation bracket with three more wins, including decisions over nationally ranked Mike Mangrum of Oregon State and 2010 All-American Germane Lindsay from Ohio. VonOhlen earned his fourth-place finish after dropping a decision to Alton in the third-place match.
VonOhlen, who improved to 22-6 on the season, finished as a placewinner at the Southern Scuffle for the second-straight season, after placing fifth at the event in 2009.
