Cross Country - September 11th
The men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the 2010 Rust Buster Invitational held on Saturday, September 11th at Monument Valley Park, 6100 ft altitude. Collegiate races begin at 9:15 and there are open races available to the general public at 4k and 6k. Click Here for more information on how to register.
Men's Water Polo - September 11th & 12th
The #19 Air Force Men's Water Polo team will kick off their 2010 home schedule with a weekend series vs. Chapman at the Cadet Gymnasium. Games are set for Saturday and Sunday at 10 am. Click Here to read more about the water polo team.
Football - September 11th
Air Force football will host BYU at Falcon Stadium for Remembrance Day presented by Boeing. The Air Force Academy invites fans to help pay tribute to the men and women who sacrificed their lives on 9/11 and continue to do so on a daily basis for our safety and wellbeing. Special 9-11 activities at AF-BYU Game
Air Force football fans are urged to be in their seats by 1:30 p.m. Saturday for the Air Force - BYU football game, as several special presentations that will begin with the annual cadet march-on are planned.
The day will begin with 20,000 mini American flags and 10,000 US Constitutions being handed out at the stadium gates. In addition, a giant flag covering the entire field will be unveiled at halftime. The cadet march-on will have special guests and will be followed with a special video tribute to 9-11. In addition, a steel girder from the World Trade Center will be on display on the east side of the stadium in front of the flag pole before the game.
NYPD detective Steve Hayden and FDNY firefighter Kenny Haskell will serve as honorary game captains for Air Force and will take part in the pregame coin toss. Several members of the Academy family who have recently deployed will also be on hand and will honored with local firefighters, police. Finally, the Wings of Blue will jump with an American flag that was recently flown over the World Trade Center site and presented to the Academy at last week's game.
