    Football Practice Underway

    This week Air Force opened football practice in preparation for the season opener on Saturday, Sept. 4, with Northwestern State. The team is practicing Aug. 2-4 and classes start Thursday, Aug. 5. The team's practices are open to the public. Once classes start, the team will practice at the practice fields each afternoon at 3:45 p.m.

     

    Update on Ben Garland

    Air Force 2010 graduate Ben Garland is currently at Denver Broncos training camp. Garland will be stationed at the Academy in the athletic department as a casual status lieutenant this year. He is one of about 40 casual status lieutenants stationed at the Academy. His assignment is for one year and his next assignment is to be determined. He will be working with cadet-athletes in the weight room once his advanced leave is completed and his work in athletics begins.     Toast to the Host

    Join other Falcon fans for a celebration of the start of the 2010 Air Force Football season at Toast to the Host, a pre-season party and beer tasting.
    Fans will be treated to samples from beer, wine and food vendors while watching practice from the terrazzo area by the Cadet Gym. Following the completion of practice, the Air Force coaching staff will speak to and interact with the crowd.
    Each fan will receive a free Air Force sample pilsner glass.
    Toast to the Host will run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7. Please note that participants in the tasting must be at least 21 years of age. Everyone of age must present a valid ID. Check our website or call the athletic ticket office at 333-3951 for more details.

     

    Air Force Football Kids Day

    Don't miss this chance to meet your favorite Air Force football players and head coach Troy Calhoun. The Second Annual Air Force Football Kids Day will be Saturday, Aug. 21, from 11:45 to 12:30 p.m. in Falcon Stadium. Select players, head coach Calhoun and the cheerleaders will be available for autographs and there will be a special performance by the cheerleaders. Air Force concessions and the gift shop will be available as well. The special day starts with the football team scrimmage at the stadium from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. which is open to the public. This is a free event!

     

    Football Coaches Tour

    Don't miss a chance to visit with Coach Troy Calhoun and ask him questions about the upcoming season. The coach is available at Rock Bottom Brewery in Denver near the Park Meadows Mall on Wednesday, Aug. 4, and in Colorado Springs at Colorado Mountain Brewery at I-25 and Interquest (Exit 153) on Thursday, Aug. 12. The time for both events is 6 to 6:30 p.m. for a meet and greet, 6:30 to 7 p.m. an address from coach and a question and answer period from 7 to 7:30 p.m.
