Calhoun to visit troops again in 2011
The Morale Entertainment Foundation, Inc. announced that the inaugural Academy Coaches Tour 2011 will take place February 12 thru February 20, 2011.
Confirmed participants are head football coaches Troy Calhoun of the Air Force Academy, Rich Ellerson of West Point , Bill George of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Ken Niumatalolo of the Naval Academy and Mike Toop of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
The ACT 2011 is expected to visit US Military Installations outside the United States and will also visit US Naval vessels at sea during the nine day mission to build morale for our troops and sailors currently serving outside the United States.
This will be the second mission for Coaches Calhoun and Ellerson as Coach Calhoun accompanied the Coaches Tour 2009 and Coach Ellerson returned from the Coaches Tour 2010 in May of this year.
The ACT 2011 will be the fourth mission organized to bring outstanding Coaches to visit US military personnel since 2008 and will be presented by Armed Forces Entertainment (a Department of Defense entity) and the Morale Entertainment Foundation, Inc ( a non-profit 501(C)3 corporation.)
American Airlines thru its Veterans Initiatives Department will be providing air transportation for the Academy Coaches Tour 2011.
Pride of the Rockies soccer coming this weekend
The Air Force Academy will be hosting the Pride of the Rockies soccer tournament this weekend. There are 220 teams from the surrounding states and about 10-12,000 people will be in attendance. For more information go to www.pridesoccer.com.
